Lanterns, Christmas lights and fireworks
The River of Light Lantern Parade is one of the highlights of Caerphilly's Christmas celebrations. The procession begins at 5.30pm and finishes with a fireworks display at 6pm, bringing a colourful start to the festive season.
Families can also get involved before the big evening by making their own lanterns at one of the organised workshops. It's a nice way for children to feel part of the celebrations rather than simply watching from the sidelines.
You don't need to attend a lantern-making workshop to take part in the parade, so don't worry if you can't make one beforehand.
Find out more about the lantern-making workshops on the official event website.
